Casual Friday: Yeah, they were all Yellow

I look forward to Fridays, not only because it means it is the weekend, but because I FINALLY get to wear jeans! I went from a job where I could wear jeans just about whenever I wanted, to one where we can ONLY wear jeans on Fridays. I know this is probably not a big deal to some people, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE blue jeans. Apparently our executive director is not as big of a fan, so I have to be very cautious and only wear them on Fridays. This Friday I chose a pair of my new favorite 7 for All Mankind Jeans (very dark rinse, wide leg and so comfy!), a blue and white striped, ruffle front blouse (Express), with a yellow cardigan (Forever21) and yellow shoes (Nine West).

    Hey, really enjoying your blog so far! You seem like you know about fashion, so I have a request: Can you write something about dressing for your body type? For example, I have a really “boxy” body type – pretty much straight/no hour-glass here! Anyway, I have a hard time with this esp when trying something like a skinny jean. I just feel like it doesn’t flatter me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The key is to not go with trends, but to find things that flatter your body style. If you don’t have curves, then fake ‘em with your clothing :) For your body style as you describe it, I would suggest a wide leg pant/jean and more fitted blouse or top. If you want a skirt or dress look, stick with one that is fitted at the waist with a full skirt. And always wear heels with skirts and dresses!
