Take It To The House

T-minus two days and counting until the keys to our new home are in our possession. Posting might be sporadic for a few days as we get moved in and get internet, etc. set up. In the meantime, here are some ‘before’ pics of the Joneses new hizzie, as in ‘before’ I get my designing hands on it! White walls? I think not!

Be sure to expect plenty of design on a dime tricks and idea boards on the bloggie in the upcoming months. I love clean lines, arts and crafts, and cottage chic styles, so we will see how I meld all those differing styles into our own unique home.

My ‘plan’ is to start in the kitchen, where I spend the majority of my time, and work my way around the downstairs before heading upstairs to paint and decorate. I am sure I will also be cooking A LOT more now that I have a full kitchen again, so I will be sharing recipes and cooking tips as well. 

Thank you guys for all of your support throughout the home buying process. It was a long excruciating process, but in the end we found a place that we can call home for many years to come, and I couldn’t be more ecstatic :) Also, my friend TheChicLife recently found a home here in the Queen City after a five year search, so CONGRATS to her and her hubby as well!

    Very nice! I’m sure you know much more about decorating than I do but I’ve always read to that it is best to start in the private spaces so that all of your ‘experiments’ aren’t on view for all guests to see.

    I cant wait to help decorate! We will see if the gazillion hours of HGTV have paid off. Got my painting clothes ready and oh, cant forget shopping clothes. And I cant wait for the first visit cause I am bringing a truck load (or two) for your house!

    And…the best part, from the pictures, it doesn’t look like it needs any work at all! It looks like it’s move in condition! Love the big rooms and everything looks so clean and well-maintained! Plus you have a huge kitchen!

    Thanks so much for the congrats! It is a single family home, not as large as it looks from the photos :) I think the sq. ft. is around 2,400…so we will be staying for a long, long, long time!
