When:

January 11, 2009

Where:

Work, it was a pretty blah day as the weather was freezing, the air conditioning was on in my office, and everything I touched seemed to go awry. Ah well, tomorrow is a new day!

Workin’ It Out: 3 mile easy run on the treadmill.

Cookin’ It Up: Do homemade bagel pizzas count as cooking? I was too tired for anything more complex.

What:

Polka Dot Top – Thrifted

Red Sweater – Express

Skirt – Banana Republic

Tights - HUE

Shoes – Nine West

Got my new lens for my SLR today, but alas the battery went dead after I snapped one shot! Guess it will have to wait ‘til tomorrow. Starting to wonder if it isn’t the lack of lighting/flash that is messing with the focus/graininess? Or the self timer? Any camera experts out there?

  1. I adore those shoes!

  2. Check your ISO setting…the higher the setting, the grainier it will be but the less light it requires. Ie: 100 is ideal for outdoors because it has virtually no grain and the extra light outside helps it to shoot.

If you have it set on 400 and up you need less and less light to shoot the picture–ideal for inside when lighting is poor– (you would have it on about 400 if you were inside…i would really never use it higher than that) but the higher you go, the grainier it will become. 400 usually is good but any higher (600…800…etc) gets problematic.

Sorry if that makes no sense…email me if you need more info!!!

  3. I loveeee polka dots!

Have you checked your ISO? Sometimes if it's set to high it can lead to film grain. Try setting it lower or even on auto and take note of what the camera thinks it should do in the situation, then adjust to your personal tastes. Hope that helps!

  4. You can never go wrong with polka dots – love them!

  5. Love the blouse! I agree – polka dots are always a good idea :)

  6. I die for those shoes.

  7. Check what you have your ISO set to. The higher it is, the more grainy your picture will appear. I keep mine set to Auto usually, but 100-200 should be good for your outside shots.

On another note… LOVE your outfit. I love polka dots & the red shoes are awesome.

  8. I LOVE that top!!!!
