Tie It Up

Hello stylish readers of PinQue, I am Jen from My Fashionable Affair stepping in for Michelle while she is in NYC. I hope that Michelle is enjoying her time in NYC while the rest of us are slaving away at work this week. Just kidding, Michelle, you definitely deserve a getaway from the work you do. I cannot wait to hear about all the places she went to visit before the marathon. We are all cheering you on, Michelle, you are going to be fantastic. With the summer weather officially behind us and I can only hope the bipolar Carolina weather is behind us as well. Now we can enjoy the true fall and winter weather and the fashions the come along with this time of year. One of the best ways to keep warm and to add a bit of pizzazz to any outfit with a simple scarf. There are two great things about scarves; the versatility and how cost effective one piece can be. Here are a few looks on how to wear a scarf differently than the typical wrap and tie and a few scarves you can fall in love in love with.

Today when the low is 35 when you leave the house and by the time you get to the office and its lunch time the sweater you decided to wear is way to hot. Yeah, that is pretty much what happened to me on Tuesday. All I wanted to do is take off that sweater but all I had on was a tank. But with a over-sized scarf like this, it can come off without walking through your office looking like you forgot to get dressed in the morning.

The great thing about scarves like this one from Lord & Taylor it can really be draped/worn like a cape (which are all the rage right now). With temps like this season fur is a hot trend, so why not wear it as scarf instead of a vest or a jacket? I absolutely love this piece! It just screams 70′s and is so chic. If you still want tips on how to twist and tie your scarf check out this video by Who What Wear. Enjoy and have fun when wearing your scarf this season, it will lead to endless possibilities for your wardrobe.

These two looks take a simplistic outfit with one scarf that is simply wrapped around the neck and takes it to the next level.

Love these 2 looks a lot! Loving the burgundy accent. And I'm a sucker for leggings paired with long blouses! Have a good weekend ~
