StyleDiary: Weighed Down

{Sweater – Old Navy (similar), Blouse – The Limited (similar), Pants – Express (similar), Necklace – Forever21 (similar), Heels – Nine West Flax}

It’s Thursday and sadly this is only my second post this week. I would like to say it’s because I have been busy, but then I would be lying. Honestly getting dressed has been less than exciting lately. Remember that marathon I ran a few months ago? Well thanks to that (and maybe a Reese’s or three), I have added 10 not so lovely pounds to my petite frame. The good part? Most of it is muscle. I only know this because I had body fat testing last week and am only 3 percent outside of the normal range for an athlete. The bad part? My clothes are not fitting! Every pair of pants I put on barely fits over my thighs which makes it increasingly more difficult to get dressed in the morning. So if you need me I’ll be up in the gym working on my fitness. Hopefully I will come out with Fergie’s body next time. Boom boom pow.

    Feel ya on this one!  I avoid capris, skinny jeans, and higher than ankle boots.  My calves make me look like Popeye of the legs.  Insanity!

    The weight gain is the very reason I will never run a marathon (or half marathon for that matter).I have heard horror stories from everyone I know who has ever run a marathon that they gain weight and can’t stop eating because they are so hungry. yikes!

    If you want to get slim in a jiffy, buy Tracy Anderson’s book and do what she says for 30 days. It’s a life changer, for real.

    But, I would like to add, that I think you look great. Obviously, body image and how we feel in our clothes is 100% personal, but I would never have guessed in a million years that you’ve gained 10 pounds.

    You look great. I’m sure you could wear anything on that kick ass runner body!

    Haha, I see where you are coming from…but I wouldn’t give up my marathon experience for anything…even a few extra pounds. If it makes you feel better, half marathon training is much less aggressive and doesn’t make you feel like you are constantly starving.

    Luckily it is less of a body image issue and more that none of my pants and skirts are fitting! I just want to slim my legs back down to fit in my clothes instead of feeling like hercules, ha! ;)
