Lauren Conrad
GASP! Apparently due to the economy, Lauren Conrad has decided to put her clothing line on hiatus. Or could it be because it was never worth the money to begin with? I love Lauren Conrad and I love buying nice things, but $100 bucks for some knit leggings that I can get at Target? No thanks. A knit jersey dress I can pick up at Forever 21 for upwards of $200 bucks, I don’t think so! I think the “bad economy” came at just the right time for our dear tv friend Lauren. I am sure the publicity doesn’t hurt either for their April 6th premiere of THE HILLS!

Are you dissapointed to see the clothing line go away?
I must say, those ladies BROUGHT IT last night (as did Slumdog Millionaire)! There were so many gorgeous gowns that it was hard to choose favorites and even harder to choose ones that were “bad.” Actually, I can’t say I saw anything that was just plain ugly, but there were a few that were not my favorites. First I will start with the best of the best:
Alicia Keys in Armani Prive
I didn’t even recognize her at first glance…I love the jeweled pink color of the gown and the slit adds interest to an otherwise simple style.
Jennifer Aniston in Valentino Haute Couture
I must say, I love this dress…but I felt like she should have upped the ante with her hair and makeup. I am a little sick of this hippy, side braid that everyone is sporting these days. I wanna see GLAMOUR!
Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive
This gown looked even better on TV in Hi DEF. The skirt of the gown had these pieces that made it look like a mermaid dress and it sparkled so beautifully under all of those lights!
Diane Lane in Dolce and Gabbana
I love the simplicity of this black Dolce and Gabbana gown. I mean, can you really go wrong with D & G?
Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab
Elie Saab is another designer I always seem to love. Architectural, yet beautiful designs.
Penelope Cruz in Vintage Balmain
This one definitely was in the running for most beautiful dress of the night. The detailing around the train is amazing!
Marisa Tomei in Versace
This multi-dimensional gown really highlight Marisa Tomei’s amazing body. Can I borrow it please?
Freida Pinto in John Galliano
Man, this gal never looks bad! The royal blue looks incredible with her dark hair and skin and I love the Bollywood feel of the design.
Heidi Klum in RM by Roland Mouret
This was probably my favorite out of all of the designs. I love the architectural neckline and the jewel town “red” color is amazing!
Let me preface the “bad” by saying that these women still looked pretty amazing, I just wasn’t fond of the design of their gowns:
Amanda Seyfried in Valentino Haute Couture
This looks like my prom dress from 1998 with a big, red bow stuck on it!
Beyonce in House of Dereon
Not a fan of the black and gold combination, and at first glance I thought the pattern was lobsters! The shape is gorgeous on Beyonce though.
Melissa Leo in Badgley Mischka
This gown is reminscent of a bad mother of the bride dress, don’t you think? It might be better in a different color…it clashes with the Oscar GOLD.
Reese Witherspoon in Rodante
Oh Reese, you are my favorite, but that gown honey is not!
AND…..drumroll please…..the WORST DRESSED goes to:
Tilda Swinton in Lanvin
There are no words to describe this…why must she always look so HARSH at awards shows?
Congrats to Slumdog Millionaire for SWEEPING the Oscars…I can’t wait to see it!
