Oh the first days of college…and poor Blair isn’t at the top of the ranks anymore and is unfortunate enough to have the one and only Georgina as her roommate. Of course you have to have a bad roommate your first semester of college, right? Or maybe that was just me? I was loving Blair’s fashion fixes last night:
Victoria Beckham Briseux Dress, Retails at $1,795 via Net-A-Porter
Paige Gamble Stingray Headband, retails for $290
The look for less:
NY & Company Shift Dress – $18
Guess Irisa Dress – $138
Ulta Headband – $7.50
I can’t identify the designers in this one, but I suspect the blouse is Catherine Malandrino…anyone else know?
J. Crew Kelsey Ruffle Top in Sweet Papaya – $88
Forever21 Floral Flare Skirt – $22.80
Jessica Simpson Josette Heel – $81.95
As for the episode itself, it improved from last week, but I am still having a hard time getting into this season for the storyline. Kind of like when the Dawson’s kids graduated from high school…it just wasn’t the same after that.
I am assuming by now that even if you don’t know what MTV is you have probably heard about the Kanye West/Taylor Swift incident on the Video Music Awards (do music videos even exist anymore?), so I will spare you the details of that. Instead, I will focus on my favorite part of any entertainment soiree, the fashion. And why not start with Taylor Swift, since her dress was absolutely stunning:
Not only did she rock it in this Kaufman Franco gown:
She also rocked it out in the subway (seriously, how awesome was that?) in this red mini dress (designer unknown):
I was not, however, feeling Beyonce’s red mini dress by Roberto Cavalli:
I did fall in love with her stunning leotard in her Single Ladies performance:
While I am not a fan of Kristen Cavallari, I did love her silver sequined number:
I am indeed a true Lauren Conrad fan, but not a fan of her VMA look. While I like the dress, it seems a little ill-fitting on her and the hair and the makeup look a little old lady to me:
And while we are on the subject of now and former Hills cast members, let’s have a little chat about Whitney. Really, she has her own clothing line? This frock is freakish:
Wonder if Gossip Girl will be gossiping about this awful look from Leighton Meister? Is she headed to the VMA’s or the Starship Enterprise? Really Leighton, couldn’t you have taken a cue from Blair Waldorf?
I am sure we have all heard by now that PINK and Shakira were wearing the same dress, both equally unfortunate looking as the other:
There aren’t even words for this one:
Ashley Greene took funky and fresh to a new level, looks a little vintage and I likey:
Well hello there Chace Crawford, how did you sneak in my fashion recap? Oh, I guess you are fashionable, aren’t you now? Just so you know (As if you didn’t already) you are also incredibly good looking, probably even in a garbage bag:
Like the look, just not so much on Alicia Keyes…and the big hoops could go, there are enough of those on the dress:
Oliva Palermo keepin’ it classy, except this is the VMA’s, not dinner with socialites:
Loey Lo Bosworth also keepin’ it classy in the black and white, which for some reason I kind of like…that print would look great on some throw pillows on my red couch:
Thank you to Kara DioGuardi for getting it right, the perfect mix of rocker and class. I loves:
And the WTF award goes to none other than Lady GaGa…it is one thing to express your creativity. It is another to dress downright weird to get attention:
Did she smuggle a few birdies in the show with her?
Judging by most of the fashions I have seen from last night’s VMA’s, you would never know that NY Fashion Week was right around the corner.
The Hills are back September 29th:
What do you think about Kristin Cavallari replacing Lauren? Will you watch? I will of course, guilty, trashy pleasures…and you know you will too, don’t lie
This is hilarious and disturbingly appropriate (except that I am female!):
