If you haven’t noticed by now, cardigans are one of my favorite layering pieces. Not only are they perfect for times like these when the weather is a bit unpredictable, but if you work in an office like me, it is FREEZING cold year round! These are some of my top picks for spring cardis:
Most Versatile:
GAP – V-Neck Cardigan $44
You really can’t beat GAP cardigan sweaters. They are so soft and typically come in a variety of colors and styles. My fave right now is this summer v-neck cardigan. It is lightweight and perfect for layering over dresses, tanks and blouses in the upcoming Spring months.

Best Value:
Old Navy Classic Cardigan – $20
Comes in a rainbow of colors and at $20, you can buy several. I have one in both yellow and turquoise!

Best Investment Piece:
J.Crew Featherweight Cashmere Cardigan – $158
Is there really any explanation needed for J.Crew and cashmere? I didn’t think so.

Best Long & Lean (or Boyfriend) Cardi
It’s a TIE!
Martin & Osa Long & Lean Cardigan Sweater – $59.50
So soft and silky, I could wear this cardi every day! Plus I love the streamlined look of a long and lean cardigan paired with skinnies or a skirt.
American Apparel Tri-Blend Rib Cardigan – $44
The feel of your favorite sweatshirt in cardigan form. You will want to spend all of your weekends in this one!

Best Vintage:
stephaniegeisler via Etsy
I love the bright green color and how it feels like a sweater I might have borrowed from my hubby.

Best Wrap:
Forever 21 Open Front Cardigan – $17.80
This is one of my favorite styles, especially because it covers my hips! I love the look of this feminine, robe style from Forever21. It would look fab layered over a ruffled blouse.

Best Pattern:
Express Watercolor Garden Cardi – $59.50
I am a total sucker for floral prints, especially with the watercolor look. I have a similar style cardigan from Express and must say I l-o-v-e-s it!
Do you have a favorite cardigan?

Here are some of the ones I am loving:
Now on my wish list
Actually, here in NC we aren’t exactly “Springin’ into Spring!” Check out our weather report for tomorrow:

Is it gonna S-N-O-W?
There is nothing better to will in spring-time weather than shopping for sandals. Here are a few of my favorite picks for spring/summer ’09:
Tribals
Think fringe, suede, tribal patterns, turquoise, and predominant stitching. This is not my all-time favorite style, but I think they can look cute when worn the right way.
Metallics
I wore my last pair of metallic sandals to DEATH (seriously, they finally fell apart in several pieces), so I will definitely be purchasing a new pair this year. My favorites are the COACH pair below, but I can’t justify spending that much for a few straps of leather. They sure are gorgeous though!
Gladiators/Huaraches
Keep in mind straps, straps, and more straps. I really like the gladiator style, I think they can be tres sexy, but remember if you have thicker legs or ankles to stay away from the ones with ankle straps!
Chunky Heels/Wedges
Some of my favorite shoe shopping sites:

www.nordstrom.com
www.zappos.com

Also check out your local TJ Maxx, DSW, Marshalls, Target, Ross, etc. if you don’t want to spend a lot on these trendy styles that might be out the door next spring!
One of the big styles for spring ’09 is florals, so here are a few of my favorite picks:
@Old Navy
This would be really cute with some metallic wedges and a bright, belted cardigan.
Pair this ruffled dress with some jeweled thong sandals and a white bag for a light, summery look.
Would love to see this cinch dress with a long, violet cardigan and gold jewelry.
These floral tops with be great paired with white linen pants, or even those white jeans and some cute boots!
This floral cardigan can be dressed up for work with an A-Line skirt, or some dark skinny jeans and sandals for a weekend casz look.
@J. Crew
These dresses would be perfect for all those spring and summer weddings I have, and could be paired with a lightweight cardigan for a work appropriate style.
@Forever21
@Anthropologie
Hope you find some cute floral styles for your winter into spring look!
