For as long as I can remember my skin has been producing enough oil to install an oil rig. For years I have tried unsuccessfully to find a foundation or product to control the oil without causing breakouts or feeling heavy on my face. Even those popular blotting papers never seemed to help because I would just end up layering on powder afterwards. Well, I have FINALLY found the solution! SmashBox PhotoFinish Primer Light is a miracle worker on oily skin. Not only does it absorb the oil underneath your foundation, it also fills in lines and reduces the look of large pores (which I happen to be ‘blessed’ with).
I usually layer on my SPF lightweight face lotion, then add a coat of SmashBox primer (with a foundation brush) to seal in the moisture and absorb the oil, then layer on my choice of foundation. Now that I have discovered this miracle worker I actually have a choice of which foundation to use. Liquid foundations used to exacerbate the oiliness and powders never provided enough coverage alone. I can’t quite remember how I stumbled upon this fabulous product, but I have been faithfully using it for over 3 years now and will never go back to anything else.
For those with not so oily skin, SmashBox also offers a multitude of similar primers for other issues such as wrinkles, redness, sunspots, and ruddiness. PhotoFinish retails for $36 and I can assure you it is worth every penny…and lasts me upwards of six months using it every day. Pick yours up from Sephora today and get free shipping with orders over $50, a free sample of Korres Eye Cream with offer code KORRES and a free sample of Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash mascara with offer code BUXOM. Bare Escentuals has also recently launched a mattifying foundation which I am dying to try with my SmashBox for the ultimate ‘no-shine’ face.

MOD Dress – Tulle. I NEVER wear things this short because I am so self conscious about my legs and prob never will again! I think this might have to become a ‘top’ now because I felt so uncomfortable all day in something so short!
Shoes – GAP
Bracelets and Sunnies – both gifts from Mom

Wearing socks, no matter whether ankle or knee high, with heels have been on and off the runway for years now. Recently, they seem to have popped back up everywhere and I still can’t seem to decide my feelings toward this trend. These popular Weardrobe gals seem to pull it off fabulously, but I am not sure I could do the same.
What do you guys think, hot or not?
When:
Friday, August 14th, 2009. T-minus one week until we move into our new house!!
Where:
Work, touring the new Wells-chovia cultural campus, dinner and bookstore with hubby. Caught up on my fall fashion mags. I can remember growing up my mom would buy me all the fall teen fashion mags and I would go through each and every one looking at all of the clothing and products and making wish lists. Sad thing is…not much has changed! Can’t wait to fulfill some of my wishlist items in NYC!!!! Eek!!
What:
Jacket – Random Mall store in Charleston. I remember being so excited when I purchased this with my first “real” paycheck.
Top – F21
Jeans – 7’s which are going to the tailor with me tomorrow for some hemming, along with a few other pairs.
Shoes – Report
I thought the pics today were pretty hilarious. Coopster and I were having a little heart to heart because he escaped from his harness/leash during our little photo shoot! I think the convo went a little something like “Now Cooper, we know better than to run away from mommy when she is trying to take bloggie pictures. Let’s try to be a little more responsible next time, K?” Hee, hee
When:
Thursday, August 13th (Happy Birthday to my sis-in law!)
Where:
Work and lunch with hubby at my fave Greek restaurant
Sorry for no posts yesterday, I had a rough day and got some sad news from/about my best friend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
What:
White Dress – Tulle, I have been wearing a lot of white lately because I realized Labor Day is coming up soon…and being the southern girl I am, I don’t wear summery whites after Labor Day
Lime Sweater – GAP…going in the trash tonight because I ripped two huge holes in it, oops
Scarf – F21
Shoes - Report. These have been such a great investment and are possibly one of my favorite pairs of shoes. So comfy and work appropriate, perhaps I need to invest in more Report shoes?
