When:
Day Two of 30 for 30 or just Thursday
Where:
Work. Moving right along to day two and four more items crossed off the list. At this rate I’ll be wearing this outfit again next Thursday or wearing yoga pants to work. I thought about leaving out the cardigan since I only actually wore it IN the office to keep warm, but that wouldn’t be in the true spirit of the challenge now would it? So eight items down, 22 more left to go.
What:
26. Cardigan – J.Crew
25. Wedges – Cynthia Vincent for Target
24. Blouse – F21
Sunnies – Target
And since I am on 30 day shopping restriction (gosh, I haven’t been on restriction since high school!), I plan to share my fave items with you guys each day so you at least someone around here is doing some shopping!
GUESS Chief Heel – $110 @ heels.com
And here I thought the LuLu’s sale was only through June, but it doesn’t end until the August 2nd! So go on and get you some pretty things with offer code luckybreaks4 and I will too come August 1st
This dress would be sooooo pretty for a summer wedding:
Or this pretty dress will take you from summer to fall seamlessly:
Nope I don’t have the blues because I shattered the husband’s brand new iphones similar to this:
{seriously, can anyone tell me who in their right mind makes a cell phone out of GLASS?!?}
Nope, I have the blues because I want…need…want these blue Jessica Simpson Acadia heels from heels.com and I am on 30 day shopping restriction!
It looks so good I want to eat it! Just because I can’t shop doesn’t mean you can’t. Remember that all my lovely readers and friends and friendly readers get 15% off any purchase of $50 or more at heels.com with offer PinQCFriends! Won’t some nice person buy these for me? I mean, gifts don’t count as shopping right? And just because I give you a charitable monetary gift and you give me a pair of beautiful blue heels doesn’t mean I am shopping right? Ok, that’s what I thought. I’ll go sit in my closet and apologize to all my heels that their beautiful blue friend won’t be coming to live with them anytime soon. But I warn you, they might cry. Or I might, whatever…and husband will too because his beautiful new iphone is shattered to pieces along with his heart.
When:
Day One of Thirty (aka July 7th, 2010)
Where:
Work. Let’s just be honest…I am winging Kendi’s 30 for 30 Challenge. I may be a planner by day, but planning is not my forte. I stood in my closet on Monday staring around and wondering how the heck I was ever going to choose 30 of the many items in that black abyss. So I ran away. And I painted the dining room. Then I decided I couldn’t give up that easily, so with that I am ‘winging’ the 30 day challenge. I will just wear items from my closet until I reach the 30 threshold, then I shall see if I can remix those items in the nature of the challenge. I must warn you though, this could get ugly, very, very ugly. Stick with me though, k?
While the challenge also includes 30 days of no shopping, I must call a mulligan for July 31st, aka my 10 YEAR high school reunion. Yep, folks I am old. Just go ahead and call me grandma. You can’t really expect that I would remix something for my high school reunion could you? So a new dress and shoes, but that.is.all. If I fail you all get a discount from heels.com! Ok, ok you win, you get a discount anyways…just enter PinQCFriends at checkout for 15% off a $50 order. Just because I am not shopping doesn’t mean you can’t right!?
On another note, check out that shiny piece on my right arm…you see that? Just happens to be that Tiffany bracelet I thought I had lost a few weeks ago. Low and behold they were zipped up tightly in the pocket of a pair of running pants. Go figure. Happy days are here again!
What (the countdown begins):
30. Top – Forever21
29. Skirt – J.Crew
28. Wedges – Report
27. Jacket – an oldie but goodie
Accessories (so glad these don’t count towards the challenge, I’d be done in two days flat)
Earrings – F21
Belt and Sunnies – Target
It’s no lie, I have been in a fashion rut lately. And when I am in a fashion rut, my shopping habit goes into overdrive. I just start buying things because of course ‘I have NOTHING to wear!’ In the hopes of curbing my spending and proving to myself that I DO in fact have PLENTY to wear, I have decided to join Kendi’s 30 for 30 Remix Challenge. I mean choosing 30 items (dresses, skirts, jeans, pants, tops, shoes) and remixing them into 30 different and stylish outfits seems easy, right? Ok, ok, so it really doesn’t seem easy (hence the ‘challenge’) but I am competitive and always up for a challenge. Thank goodness that accessories are a freebie, otherwise I would be in trouble! While I wanted to be all ambitious and start today, the day was spent in my pajamas and since pajamas are not included tomorrow shall commence my 30 for 30. Are you up for the challenge? Check out Kendi’s blog for all the details. Guess I better go comb my closet for my 30 items now before tomorrow morning comes!
Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone has some fun festivities planned for the weekend! We will be painting our house, watching fireworks, eating lots of watermelon and relaxing. In between all your fourth festivities make sure to check out Lulu’s for 15% off site wide with offer code happy4th. Maybe one of these red, white or blue styles will fit your fancy?
